In addition to weekly off-site excursions as part of the curriculum, which can include mountain biking, planned navigational walks, water sports and volunteering activities, pupils also have the opportunity to go on residential trips during their time at Holton.
Past trips have included camping in the Peak District, visits to the Brecon Beacons, surfing trips to Cornwall and overseas trips to Barcelona and Paris.
Pupils also spend time away as part of the Duke of Edinburgh Awards Scheme.
Take a look at our News items or Instagram feeds to find out more about some of our recent trips and residentials.
Some of our pupils have just come back from Barcelona – for some of these pupils, when they first came to Holton, attendance was really difficult. To see the confidence they now have, the relationships, the resilience and the desire to try new things is incredible. None of this would be possible without the strong relationships and trust-building we pride ourselves on. When pupils trust us, they can do absolutely amazing things.
Experiences like this fishing residential are hugely beneficial. They support personal development, strengthen positive relationships between pupils and staff, and create lasting memories that can be brought back into everyday school life.
A huge thank you to everyone who helped make the residential such a positive and memorable experience. 🎣👏

Enrichment activities provide valuable opportunities for our pupils to develop skills and knowledge beyond the classroom. They support the achievement of school targets by building confidence, teamwork, communication, creativity and independence. By offering a range of engaging activities, pupils are encouraged to develop their interests, challenge themselves and apply their learning in different contexts! 💜
Bowling, walking and visiting the trampoline park are fantastic activities for our pupils, promoting confidence, teamwork, physical wellbeing and positive social experiences! 💜
